Lightspeed Retail error LSI007 — "More than one EAN has the code…" (duplicate product code)

Created by Emily Campbell, Modified on Thu, 16 Jul at 8:51 AM by Emily Campbell

What this error means

When BRM sends a sale to Lightspeed, it matches each rental item to a Lightspeed product using its product code (the EAN/SKU — a code with no stock level, since stock is managed in BRM). This error means more than one Lightspeed product shares the same code, so BRM can't tell which one you mean.

You may see it worded as either "More than one EAN has the code : 11111111111" or "More than one item matches itemCode".

Why it happens

Two or more items in Lightspeed have the same EAN/product code. It comes back from Lightspeed, so it's a Lightspeed catalogue configuration issue.

How to fix it

  1. Note the duplicated code in the error message (e.g. 11111111111).
  2. In Lightspeed, search your catalogue for that code.
  3. Give each product a unique code, or remove it from the ones that shouldn't have it.
  4. Back in BRM, retry the transaction.
