Lightspeed-R Integration - BRM to LS

Created by Doug Stoddart, Modified on Wed, 14 May at 6:03 PM by Yani at Bike Rental Manager

Why Would You Want to Do This?

You might want to run all your transactions, including both retail and rental, through a single system like Lightspeed. This setup allows BRM to handle your rentals while Lightspeed processes all payments.

However, you may not want to start the process in Lightspeed right away. For instance, you may only collect payment at check-out or check-in, or you might need to add an unexpected charge, such as a late fee, at a later stage in the rental.

How Does It Work?

To transfer a rental into Lightspeed, follow these steps:

When it’s time to process a payment—either by adding transactions or due to a stage transition—simply select Lightspeed as your payment method.

(Video: BRM to LS demo here)

To add a transaction and process payment through Lightspeed, click the 'Add Transaction' button and select Lightspeed as your payment method.

This will transfer your payment into Lightspeed, allowing the payment to be completed there. The transaction will appear in the Quotes section of your Lightspeed, where you can then process it at your register.

Please Note:

To ensure your inbound quotes appear at the top of the list in Lightspeed, make sure to sort by Quote #. To do this, simply click on the QUOTE # column header and ensure the arrow is pointing upwards (^), so that the most recent quotes appear at the top.
