The short answer
Upload a landscape photo, around 2880 × 1920 pixels, as a JPEG or WebP under 10 MB — and keep the main subject in the middle of the frame.
You don't need to resize or optimise anything yourself. BRM automatically creates several smaller versions of every image you upload and serves whichever one fits the customer's screen, so your event pages stay sharp without being slow to load.
Why the middle of the frame matters
Your event image is shown in two different shapes on your online booking page:
- On the events list, as a tall portrait card.
- On the event's own page, as a wider landscape image.
The same photo is used for both, cropped from the centre to fit each shape. So the left and right edges get cut off on the list card, and the top and bottom are trimmed on the event page.
As a rule of thumb, anything in the middle half of your photo will always be visible. Keep the bike, the group, or the view you're selling in that central area — and avoid putting text, logos, or someone's face near an edge.
What we accept
- File types — JPEG, PNG or WebP. For photographs, JPEG or WebP give the best result.
- File size — up to 10 MB.
- Smallest allowed — the shorter side must be at least 800 pixels. We'd suggest 1200 × 800 as a sensible floor.
- Largest allowed — no side longer than 8000 pixels.
Uploading something bigger than 2880 pixels on its longest side does no harm, but it won't add any visible quality — that's the largest version we generate.
Adding or changing an event image
- Go to Settings → Optional Modules → Events.
- Open the event you want to change, or click + Add event.
- Find the Event Image section. Drag your file onto the upload area, or click it to browse.
- Save the event.
Your new image may take a few moments to appear on your booking page while we prepare the different sizes.
If your image doesn't appear
The most common cause is an image that's too small. If the shorter side is under 800 pixels, the picture is rejected after uploading and the event saves without it — so it looks like it worked, but no image ever shows on your booking page.
If that happens, re-upload a larger version of the same photo. If it still doesn't appear, contact BRM Support.
