Quick Troubleshooting Guide: Fixing Website Display or Loading Issues

If a website isn’t working properly (e.g., it looks broken, won’t load, or shows outdated content), try the following steps:


1. Hard Refresh (Reload Without Cache)

Forces the browser to load the most recent version of the website.

Windows / Linux

  • Chrome / Edge / Firefox → Ctrl + F5 or Ctrl + Shift + R

Mac

  • Chrome / Firefox → Cmd + Shift + R

  • Safari → Cmd + Option + R


2. Clear Cache & Cookies

Cached files and cookies can cause outdated or broken pages.

Chrome / Edge / Firefox (Desktop)

  1. Open menu (⋮ or ☰) → Settings

  2. Go to Privacy / Clear browsing data

  3. Select Cached images/files + Cookies

  4. Choose All timeClear

Safari (Mac)

  • Empty cache: Menu → Safari → Preferences → Advanced → enable Develop menuDevelop → Empty Caches

  • Clear cookies: Safari → Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data → Remove All

Mobile (Chrome, Safari, Edge, Firefox)

  • Menu → Settings / Privacy → Clear browsing data → Select Cache and Cookies → Clear


3. Check Other Common Causes

  • Outdated Browser → Ensure you’re using the latest version of Chrome, Edge, Firefox, or Safari. Update via browser settings or app store.

  • Extensions / Add-ons → Temporarily disable ad blockers or other extensions that may interfere.

  • Private/Incognito Mode → Open the site in a private/incognito window to bypass cache and cookies.

  • Restart Device → Restart your browser. If that doesn’t help, restart your computer or phone.


 If All Else Fails

  • Try a different browser (e.g., Chrome instead of Safari).

  • Try a different device or network to rule out connection issues.
