Blocker Bookings

How to Temporarily Close Bike Availability for Specific Dates or Times

There are times when you may need to make certain bikes unavailable for rental, even though they are currently active in your system. Examples include:

  • You plan to sell a bike (or several) on a specific date.

  • You want to close rentals after a certain time of day.

  • You’ve ordered a replacement part and need the bike out of service temporarily, but available again later.

In these situations, you can use a blocker booking. This is a reservation created specifically to prevent the selected item(s) from being booked during the chosen period.

Creating a Blocker Booking

  1. Create a new reservation and include the item(s) you wish to block.

  2. Enter a placeholder client name such as “Blocker.”

  3. Set the booking price to zero so it does not affect your revenue reporting.

Once the blocker period has ended, you can either complete the sale of the item(s) or make them available for rental again.
